Must Have: Calender

One thing that the Domestic Goddess must be able to if she is a mother is to be able to keep track of all of the activities and appointments for the family. The easiest way to do this? Make sure that you have a calender hanging somewhere that all family members can see it.My calender hangs on the refrigerator. It is not a fancy calender, although I am aware that many different types are available for organizing, etc. I write everything on my calender, including appointments, the kids' activities, and even just "goings on." That way, my partner and I both know to look at the calender prior to making plans or appointments. It sounds simple, and it is, but it honestly makes all the difference in the world when it comes to keeping tack of your busy life!

Must Have: Cleaning Products

Here are a few cleaning products that no Domestic Goddess should be without:

1) The Magic Eraser.

I could personally kiss the feet of the inventor of this product and no one should be without it. It really does everything that the advertising says that it will. It easily erases hand prints and even crayon and scuffs off of your walls...without a lot of hard scrubbing. Even ground in ancient dirt on linoleum floors is no problem for this product. It cleans anything and everything quite easily.

2) Swifter Products.

If you have not yet discovered Swifter products, you absolutely need to try them. The dusters are awesome for quick dusting and everyday clean up. While they will not completely replace the need to polish, they will certainly stretch out the time in between polishes. You can buy extenders to help you to reach high places...great for removing cobwebs. The Swifter Wet Jet is an absolute must have if you have floors that need to be mopped. It is easy to use and works great on linoleum and laminate. You may still need to get out your mop once in a while for a really deep clean, but believe me, you will not have to do it very often. tip: to make your floors look even cleaner, use an old towel to dry them after you mop each section. You will be surprised how much dirt is left behind on the floor.

3) The Dirt Devil Broom Vac.

I received one of these as a gift and I absolutely love it! My favorite use for it is vacuuming the bathrooms. It will effortlessly sweep up all the hair that accumulates on the floor. Great for "quick cleaning" when company is on the way.

Those are just a few of the products a Domestic Goddess must have. Please feel free to add any of your own! Remember: A Domestic Goddess works smarter, not harder!

Hello From The Domestic Goddess

Stay at home mom? Humph. Anyone can be a stay at home mom, but it takes something special to be a Domestic Goddess. Being a stay at home parent is the most difficult job on the planet as far as I am concerned. What are the things that set a Domestic Goddess apart from a stay at home mom?A Goddess knows how to make the most of her time at home. How to save money and perhaps even how to make money from home. (This is one of my current endevors, learning how to make money from home. Let me make all the mistakes so that you don't have to!) A Goddess knows how to be a perfect wife and mother and how to keep a perfect house. Okay, that line is a bunch of boloney, but a Goddess knows how to do the best she can and never stops trying to learn how to make her job easier and more successful. This blog is my attempt to share all of the tips and facts that I discover along the way. I will share my mistakes and my triumphs so that others may benefit from them. I hope that the rest of the Domestic Goddesses (and Gods) will share their knowledge here as well.
